Vancouver-Whistler-Victoria – Lookbook

Hello guys! Welcome back to my blog. Today I thought I’d share mine and SB’s(my bff, that’s gonna be her pen name from now on) outfits from a trip I made earlier this month to the Canadian West Coast. We strategically planned the timing of our trip so that we can see Vancouver in all it’s Fall Glory and we weren’t disappointed  😉 We got to see rows and rows of Red and yellow colored Maple trees! Gosh Canada is such a beautiful place! We also visited Whistler (which is famous for its Ski resorts) and Victoria (which is famous for its Victorian architecture). I have a travel post coming up real soon with all the awe-inspiring pictures from the trip. In this post, I’ll talk about my second favorite thing – the outfits 🙂

Before I start talking about my outfits, I wanted to share something. When I started this blog, all I wanted to do was dress up according to the latest trends and share all the cheap finds with you guys. But now, the intent has completely changed. I’m not here to encourage you to shop more and add on to the already compelling pressure that fast fashion puts on us. I want to encourage you to buy timeless pieces and basics that would be wardrobe staples which can be styled in multiple ways and used for a long time! I’m doing my little part towards sustainable fashion and I’m glad I get to share my journey with you guys 🙂

Moving on, since Fall had just started in Canada, the temperatures were around 10-15 Degrees C which required us to dress in layers. So for the first day, I wore a striped crisscross tee that I had gotten during summer and threw a blue heather blazer over it. I had this blazer lying in a corner of my closet for the longest time until I realized that I could totally use it for layering during Fall! Pairing it up with jeans and a tee adds class to the look without making it look so formal. And SB wore this thin turtleneck sweater and layered it with a faux suede pink cardigan to give it a pop of color. She paired it with a pair of black suede fringe booties from Aerosoles.

For the second day, I wanted to play with textures. So I wore my fav faux leather pants that I had shared in an older post and paired it up with a golden colored top from H&M. Gold is such a happening color in Fall and looks good in pretty much any type of outfit! For both days, I wore these lace-up boots from Steve Madden that I’ve had for almost 3 years now. They can be folded and made to look like Normal ankle length boots for warmer weather or zipped up and worn as cowboy boots. SB wore this super sweatshirt with satin accents with a floral skirt. You can extend the wear of your mini skirts from summer by pairing them with black/nude tights for Fall.

Until next time,

Mal
