NYC-Niagara-Toronto – Lookbook

Hello peeps! Long time no see πŸ˜› Hope everyone’s safe and sound amidst the crazy hurricanes and forest fires! 😦 Mother nature is clearly expressing her wrath, and why won’t she, if some people in the world refuse to believe that climate change is real? 😐 Anyways, I’m praying for all the people who already lost their homes in the Caribbean and to those who have been evacuated from Florida. Hope all this ends soon!

Moving on, I visited NYC, Niagara and Toronto over the last long weekend. It was a 5 day trip and we covered most of the must-visit places in all these cities and I will share my itinerary soon. For this post, I thought I’d share all the outfits that I wore for the trip.

Before I move on to my post, I want to make a confession – I follow some amazing fellow bloggers who introduced me to the concept of sustainable and ethical fashion, something that I had conveniently ignored through the years. It’s unbelievable, what fast fashion is doing to the earth and people living in developing countries. I highly suggest you watch the documentary “The True Cost” on Netflix if you haven’t already. So I decided to do my part, however small it maybe, and completely stopped shopping from any of the fast fashion brands. So whatever you will see on my blog from now on would be me restyling the clothes that I already own or ones that I get from Ethical and sustainable clothing stores.

Day 1 & 2 – New York City

I bought a pair of walking shoes from skechers before leaving for the trip because NYC is one of the cities which should be experienced by walk. If you like sneakers, I suggest you invest in a good pair. I love the memory foam in the skechers shoes/sandals coz they are super comfy to walk in!

For the first day, I wore this tulle skirt that I had previously styled in this postΒ Β with a white top this time coz – summer! πŸ˜€ I got this top from target and I tied the knot myself (DIY duh πŸ˜‰ coz both knotted and lace up tops have been trending all summer.

For the second day, I wore a pair of high-waisted trousers that I had gotten a while back from F21 with a black top that had corset detailing in the waist which is super flattering! I wear these trousers all the time to work since it looks formal and classy. On this day, we visited Wall street and Lower Manhattan and guess what, I totally fit in πŸ˜‰

Day 3 – Toronto, ON

For the 3rd day, I wore a silver pleated skirt that I had previously styled in this post with a black statement sleeve top since it was a little chilly. And this skirt is so versatile, and can me easily styled for Fall too! Throw in a crop sweater in any neutral shade and you’re good to go πŸ™‚

Day 4 – Niagara Falls

The day was a little gloomy, so I decided to add some color to the day and wore this vest that my mom got for me from India. I got so many compliments that day! This is a perfect addition to any person’s wardrobe, so if you ever come across this, definitely give it a chance πŸ˜‰

Hope you enjoyed this post πŸ™‚ I will get back next week with an itinerary to cover NY, Niagara (Both US and Canada side) and Toronto in 5 days. Stay tuned πŸ™‚

Until next time,

Mal
